Patient Information and Practice Policies
-
Align Psychiatry provides psychiatric care through secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth. Patients must be physically located within the state of Oklahoma at the time of each appointment. A private, quiet setting and reliable internet connection are important to support a productive visit. If technical difficulties occur, reasonable efforts will be made to reconnect or determine an appropriate alternative.
-
Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you. Please provide at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations and missed appointments may be subject to a fee. Repeated missed appointments or late cancellations may affect your ability to continue care with the practice.
-
Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise arranged. Align Psychiatry currently offers self-pay services and will provide a clear fee schedule before treatment begins. Upon request, we can provide a superbill for patients seeking reimbursement through out-of-network insurance benefits. Coverage and reimbursement vary by insurance plan, and patients are responsible for understanding their benefits and any applicable deductibles, coinsurance, or other balances.
-
Medication refills are managed during regular business hours and should be requested in advance whenever possible. Refills may require a follow-up appointment or other monitoring depending on the medication and clinical circumstances. Early refills, replacement prescriptions for lost or stolen medications, and requests outside established treatment guidelines may not be approved.
-
Controlled medications are prescribed only when clinically appropriate and following a thorough evaluation and ongoing monitoring. Treatment may include review of the Oklahoma Prescription Monitoring Program, medication agreements, drug screening, or other monitoring when clinically indicated. Patients are expected to take medications only as prescribed and to communicate openly about medications prescribed by other providers. Controlled medications are not guaranteed as part of treatment.
-
Align Psychiatry deeply values accessible communication. While most questions and concerns are best addressed during your telehealth visits, we understand issues may arise between appointments and guidance may be needed sooner. Routine questions, medication concerns, refill requests, and other clinical matters should be submitted through the secure patient portal whenever possible. The website contact form is intended for general questions and practice-related inquiries and should not be used for urgent medical concerns. Messages are reviewed during regular business hours and are addressed as quickly as possible, typically within 24-48 business hours.
-
Align Psychiatry is not an emergency or crisis service and does not provide 24/7 monitoring. If you are experiencing a psychiatric or medical emergency, call 911, go to the nearest emergency department, or call/text 988 for immediate crisis support. Please do not use the patient portal, email, or website contact form for emergencies.
-
Some medications and treatments require prior authorization or other approval from an insurance company. Align Psychiatry will assist with the prior authorization process when appropriate, but approval decisions are ultimately made by the insurance company and cannot be guaranteed. Delays in authorization may affect when a medication can be filled.
-
Patients may request copies of their medical records and may be asked to complete appropriate authorization forms when records need to be shared with another provider or organization. Requests for forms, letters, records, or other documentation may require additional time and, when permitted, a separate administrative fee.
-
Patients can expect respectful, compassionate, and professional care, as well as an active role in decisions about their treatment. Patients are expected to provide accurate and complete information, attend scheduled appointments, follow mutually agreed-upon treatment recommendations, communicate questions or concerns openly, and maintain appropriate boundaries within the patient-provider relationship.
-
Align Psychiatry provides outpatient psychiatric evaluation and ongoing medication management for children, adolescents, and adults. Treatment recommendations are based on each patient's individual needs, clinical presentation, and treatment goals. When a patient's needs exceed the scope of outpatient telepsychiatric care, additional services or a higher level of care may be recommended.
